People say absence
makes the heart grow fonder,
but I am struggling with that.

Last night I was staring out the window,
looking towards nothing,
dwelling over what could have been?

A fortnight later, I am feeling keen,
happy thoughts linger,
sir Daniels beside me, feeling lean.

"I decide when I go", and go I must,
for the skeleton in my closet,
will never rust or turn to dust.

For there it'll be, reminding me,
hounding me for eternity,
only I can set me free.
